-

A touring caravan with a fully retractable roof, felt and leather inside walls and a tailgate you can open to reveal a kitchen complete with sink and gas stove is due to go on display for the first time at this year’s Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The new Lume Traveler will be available in three versions. First, a 2.05m-high, 2.03m-wide shell with a shipping length of 5.17m and an unladen weight of 600kg, which you can customise. Alternatively, you can get the Basic model, with a 40-litre fridge, or the No 1 version, with a kitchen that includes a Pitt stove, that retractable roof, with flyscreen and 100W solar panel, an unladen weight of 1000kg and a payload of 350kg. The Dutch company behind the Lume is planning to make each model in batches of five, to ensure speedy delivery. Uk-bound models, which conform to UK standards, should be ready for delivery in the first quarter of next year. Prices start from €27,250. For more information, visit www.lumetraveler.com/en.
