Gtech has become a popular, more affordable, alternative to Dyson. And that, essentially, defines this model. There isn’t the instant killer suction of the Dysons – as shown by only 120g of detritus retrieved in our carpet test – but this didn’t do badly against the beads in our hard floor challenge. Something about the shape of the floor head made it surprisingly effective with the camping carpet, too. Unusually, this model reverts to using disposable bags. But at least this means far fewer trips to the bin.
