Markets and festivities
Heading to East Riding this winter? The market towns will look even prettier with their festive lights strung up, and there are plenty of interesting markets for you to browse. Regular markets are held in Beverley on Wednesdays and Saturdays. As well as these, the annual Beverley Festival of Christmas takes place on Sunday 9 December. You can expect the town to become a veritable wonderland, complete with Santa and his reindeer to add to the atmosphere.
Driffield Christmas Festival is held on 30 November, so you’ll have to get your skates on if you want to visit. Meanwhile, Cottingham is holding its first-ever Christmas Festival on Sunday 16 December. Here you’ll find craft and market stalls, live reindeer, a synthetic ice rink, food and drink stalls and children’s rides. There will also be live entertainment throughout the day from the likes of The Salvation
Army Band and Tre Amici.
What more could you need to get into the festive spirit?
