ENJOY FESTIVITIES AT ROSS PARK

-

Staying at Ross Park Caravan Site, in Ipplepen, Devon, last September (following an article in your magazine), we were made aware of their Christmas and New Year festivities programme, so we signed up for both, having had a lovely holiday on one of the best sites we have visited. As readers may be aware, the site has won awards for a number of years – including your own Top 100 Sites Guide regional award – and now we know why! We arrived on 21 December to a very warm welcome, and our caravan was pitched for us by Mark. During the next few days other caravanners started to arrive, and by Christmas Eve the site looked better than Blackpool Illuminations. A welcome reception was held on the afternoon of Christmas Eve, where we learned that some of our fellow campers had been coming to the site for over 20 years; again, we now know why. Owners Helen and Mark worked tirelessly over the next 10 days to provide excellent three-course meals (two on Christmas Day), and superb entertainment, as well as dancing to live music, which on New Year’s Eve did not finish until the early hours of the morning. On 2 January (departure day), a full English breakfast was provided. We made some really nice friends, who we hope to meet up with again in the future. Thank you once again to Helen and Mark and their lovely staff for a memorable time; we certainly will return. Valerie & Alan Dopson
