Innovative ideas on the forecourts
The lockdown may have stifled the market in terms of face-to-face transactions, but online sales are still holding their own.
Novel ideas are also coming into play; for example, some folk have been buying used tourers for isolation, and one dealer told me they ran an online competition over Easter. They usually do this as a promotion on the forecourt, but they were pleasantly surprised by the interest shown in the online offering.
Does this mean that post-lockdown, the used tourer market will rapidly bounce back? As with a lot of other things at the moment, we’ll have to wait and see.
