A caravan with a huge number of bunk beds can sometimes start to feel a little like a dormitory. But with all of the bunks tucked away at the back, as in this layout, they are partitioned off from the rest of the van by the central washroom, so the front lounge feels like any other front lounge.

With this layout the adults can also put the kids to bed and still have space to themselves.

Pros

Plenty of sleeping space, but it is nicely tidied away, and everyone has easy access to the toilet

Cons

The caravan can feel rather like it has been split in half

A The front lounge here is the only seating area, so it needs to be roomy.

B Given that this is a family layout, the kitchen needs to be big enough for a family.

C Central washroom is often partitioned off on both sides to form a dressing room.

D The best bunks have their own lights and USB ports.
