EYE KETTLEBY LAKES

Overall winner in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2021, this site is packed with fantastic facilities, but it is the prospect of nine coarse fishing lakes that remains its star attraction. These include two specimen carp lakes, six mixed coarse fishing lakes and a private lake for lodge residents only. Day tickets and tuition are both available.

HORAM MANOR COUNTRY PARK

South-east England Regional Winner in our Top 100 Sites Guide, Horam Manor is a beautiful rural retreat surrounded by fishing lakes and nature trails. Coarse fishing is available at Horam Manor Fishery, where you’ll find waters packed with species such as carp, crucian carp, tench, perch, bream, roach, rudd, golden rudd, and even eels.

GARNFFRWD PARK

This CL in West Wales has hardstandi­ngs and hook-ups on five pitches, with angling on the five-acre landscaped lake, which was built in 1983 specifical­ly for trout fishing. The lake holds good-sized rainbow and blue trout, as well as brown and tiger trout. Day tickets are available, and there’s a welcoming café overlookin­g the lake. WOODLAND WATERS HOLIDAY PARK

This dedicated fishing and holiday park is packed with facilities and has five lakes of varying sizes, the largest covering 14 acres. The specimen lake has carp and pike to 27.5lb, and you’ll also find tench, bream, roach, rudd and perch. Day and evening tickets are available and night fishing is allowed on the specimen lake. SPRINGWATE­R LAKES

This beautiful park in south-west Wales is within easy reach of the Brecon Beacons and has five fishing lakes on site. A dedicated fly fishing lake offers the chance to catch brown and rainbow trout, while the coarse lake stocks crucian, mirror and common carp, large tench and bream, roach, rudd, golden orfe and perch.

Exquisitel­y placed on the banks of the wonderful River Wye, Lucksall puts you straight on the water, with access to a variety of fishing methods and species. Barbel is very popular and the area is known for pike up to 30lb. The nearby Riverside Bar & Eatery offers plenty of choice should all that biting make you a little peckish!

CHAIN BRIDGE CARAVAN SITE

Ideally located on the banks of the River Tweed, Chain Bridge will delight keen anglers, who can stay on site and merely need to paddle out into the water to enjoy fishing to their heart’s content. The site also offers excellent access to the attraction­s of nearby Berwick-upon-tweed and the glorious Northumber­land coastline.

MILTON OF FONAB CARAVAN PARK

Scotland is, of course, favourite for its salmon fishing and at this site you’ll have easy access to the River Tummel, a tributary of the River Tay. The fishing here covers some 1.7km of river and is particular­ly good in spring and early summer, while later in the year, there is also the chance of catching brown trout.
