Why not see how the other clubs do it?
We show you where you need to be this weekend – and why not make that a national rally?
We love national rallies; they’re the perfect opportunity to see cars that attend just a few events a year. Most clubs have now revealed dates, so here are the big bashes we reckon you should be heading for.
Things kick off with the Singer Owners’ Car Club on June 9-11 in Cheshire and the Daimler Lanchester Owners’ Club in Surrey; the Triumph Roadster Club’s day is at Hanbury Hall, Worcestershire on June 11. The following weekend (June 17-18) the Standard Triumph marque day takes place at Santa Pod as part of the Retro Show, with several associated clubs.
On June 24-25 the Austin Counties Car Club will descend on the Shuttleworth Collection near Biggleswade; from June 30 to July 2 the Standard Motor Club will visit venues in Warwickshire. The BMC and Leyland Day will provide the Austin Cambridge Westminster Car Club with the perfect opportunity to hold its rally at Gaydon on July 2, a week before the Armstrong Siddeley Owners’ Club’s bash in Derbyshire. At the same time (July 7-9) the Lancia Motor Club will be in Brockworth (Gloucs) and the Vauxhall Bedford Opel Association will be in Market Harborough as the BSA Front-wheel Drive Club enjoys two days in Wymeswold, Leics.
Then there’s the Austin Ten Drivers’ Club (July 14-16, Wroxall Abbey, Warks), Sunbeam Rapier Owners’ Club (July 25-26, Gatwick Aviation Museum), Wolseley Register (July 30, Belton House, Lincs), Imp Club (August 3-7, Kent), Sunbeam Alpine Owners’ Club (August 3-7, Trinity Park, Ipswich), MKII Cortina Owners’ Club (August 5-6, Stratfordupon-avon racecourse), P6 Rover Owners’ Club (August 6, Castle Howard, Yorks) and Reliant Scimitar Sabre Owners’ Club (Aug 17-20, Curborough).
