LARGEST EVER MGLIVE! AWAITS

Organisers announce Mglive! will become even bigger for 2018

-

Fifteen thousand visitors attended the world’s biggest static display of MGS, which was combined with a feast of on-track action at this year’s Mglive! festival. More than 550 entries on the Grand Prix circuit across 16 races drew crowds of excited attendees over the two-day event.

MGCC General Manager Adam Sloman told PC: ‘Mglive! is just growing and growing! I’m thrilled to have seen so many happy MG and motorsport fans enjoy the weekend. All the new show content was extremely well received and we’re looking forward to building on that for 2018.’ More than 3000 MGS featured in static displays throughout the Silverstone circuit complex. The MG Car Club marquee featured a number of significant models, with further displays by the club’s many Registers.

In the racing, the Equipe GT class proved most popular, with vehicles ranging from the expected MGS to TVR and Alfa Romeo. The MG content included a fabulous pair of ex-works MGBS, alongside several mighty Midgets.

The new Village Green section also proved popular; bringing a real festival experience to the long-standing MG event. The Pride of Ownership was won by David Laidlaw and his MGB, while Nigel Scutt’s MGF won the Meguiars-sponsored concours.

Those behind Mglive! say they’re already organising a return for 2018 – dates will be announced later in the year.
