APPRENTICE TRAILBLAZERS

A new apprenticeship scheme will launch at Bicester Heritage, Emtec College in Nottingham and at specialists P&A Wood in September. The Trailblazer Heritage Engineering Standard Course will see over 130 apprentices undertake a newly designed and funded standard at the three sites. It will have more engineering content than previous apprenticeships and is recognised as being unique by the Department for Education. The course will start with general principles and then allow students to move into specialisms.

HISTORIC ELIGIBILITY

After a meeting with the FBHVC the DVLA has fixed a technical problem that prevented some classics from gaining historic vehicle status. The DVLA will now accept the date of manufacture rather than registration when allotting historic status as long as the application is made with manufacturers’ record or in a small number of cases a heritage certificate.
