CHARLES’S CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
1962-1966 Ford Cortina
Aimed squarely at the likes of the Morris Oxford and Vauxhall Victor, the Consul Cortina (as it was badged until 1964) was both inexpensive to build and cheap to run. Buyers loved it and it set the scene for Ford’s successful family range for decades to come.
1964-1970 Ford Corsair
First raising eyebrows at the London Motor Show in October 1963, the Corsair was a reskinned long wheelbase Cortina with bold styling. Over the six-year production run 310,000 Corsairs were made. Two-door models are rare having only ever been built to special order.
