My Wartburg 311 voiced its distaste for motorways on the Practical
Classics café tour by repeatedly grinding to a halt with fuel starvation. A fuel hose pinched under a clip at the rear was the culprit. It wasn’t a problem on country lanes, but it sucked itself closed during long periods of high-rpm thrashing.
