Dial test indicator

A precision measurement device that’s handy for all sorts of things

-

What is it?

A dial test indicator – or DTI – is a precision tool for measuring movements that can’t be judged by the naked eye. It shows them on a clock-type face with a rotating needle. It’s used for indicating free-play, end-float or backlash in hubs, engine parts and transmission shafts and gears.
