'Almost 323,000 miles and still going strong!'

2002 Audi A6 Steve Quinn, West Midlands

Practical Classics (UK) - - YOUR CARS -

My father ordered this A6 new, specifying the 2.5TDI engine and six-speed manual gearbox. It also has optional sport seats, sport suspension and rare seven-seat boot conversion. My father drove the Audi consistently up to 2013, maintaining it regardless of cost.

When he got a company car I took the Audi over, using it as my daily driver. Mechanically, it has been generally reliable, apart from the turbo that has now covered 230,000 out of the 323,000 miles!

Neither the engine nor the gearbox has ever been rebuilt. One day I would like to take the A6 back to its German birthplace, Neck arsulm stuttgart, and take it round the Nürburgring for the ultimate road trip.

There is no chance of me getting rid of this great car any time soon – in fact I am looking forward to the next 300,000 miles!

Steve hopes to do 300k more miles in the A6.

2.5TDI has never needed a rebuild.

323k miles (nearly) on the clock.
