What in the world should Sam Glover get for his tour?

Practical Classics (UK) - - TEAM ADVENTURE - Paul and Melanie Gough, Spain

In the August issue, I read through the list of ‘must haves’ for Sam Glover’s planned adventure. There was only one option: the Lada Niva, a car designed for this purpose, as all aficionados will confirm. Then the bombshell: the car had to be British. My wife and I began to list some possible contenders. An early Land Rover is a ‘cliche’ and not very comfy. An Austin Champ? It’s capable, but parts may be a problem . A Triumph Herald estate? Sam could sleep in it, but would it be sufficiently rugged?

Then the lightbulb moment: a Series III Morris Oxford! Tough, comfortable, simple and extra ground clearance could easily be achieved. Perhaps the Hindustan parts bin could help?
