From the late Thir­ties, small Fords took over from the Austin Seven as our econ­omy cars of choice. The 933cc side­valve soon grew to 1172cc and pow­ered lit­tle Anglias and Pops as well as longer six­light Pre­fects like this. The full-width 100E fam­ily kept the en­gine go­ing un­til 1959.
