Autonomous vehicles: higher speed limits…

-

I think 80mph is fine. The trucks still go 56mph so you can just potter along with them. Works well in Italy and France. Self driving cars are not for me… it’s like a self eating meal or buying a book of completed crosswords. Ian Ferguson

A mixture of autonomous and manually controlled vehicles will never be accident-free, regardless of speed and other parameters. Julian Kuipers

I think 80mph is achievable, but only if you have a guy running along in front with a red flag to alert other road users. Pawl Burt

There are numerous acccidents and motorway closures with a 70mph limit, so until people learn how to drive, I don’t think it’s a good idea. Scott Anderson
