Rare prototype comes to light in sale

Ever heard of a Bristol 500? Us neither, but we have now thanks to one being sold through the Bristol Owners’ Club’s newsletter. The vendor, Ken Robinson, told us: ‘Based on a 1937 Fiat Topolino, the car was restyled by Bristol Aeroplane Company MD Sir Peter Masefield in 1957/58. It had a Perspex roof and was intended to be a prototype. I bought the car in 1997 from Sir Peter along with the original conversion drawing.’ Visit: boc.net
