Practical Classics (UK) - - YOUR SHOUT -

I swore I’d never be one of those ‘I think you’ll find’ readers, but I couldn’t help myself. In November’s Memory Lane what you claimed was an egg-yolk Renault 15 was in fact an R17. Dare I say the Gordini model because of its vinyl roof?

My first car was a 1973 Renault 15TL. I repainted it white and got a vinyl roof fitted. It was a brilliant car, but one day the electrics gave up the ghost and set fire to the ignition system’s insulation.

I always longed for a Renault 17, the TS version with a vinyl foldback sunroof. Warren Knight, via email
