THE MOT SAFETY NET
We’re probably not as good as we like to think we are. I have been following the MOT or not to MOT debate in PC. My cars are not yet eligible for exemption but if they were I would put them in for inspection anyway.
I do most of the maintenance and repair work on my cars, and I think I’m pretty good at it. But I know I can and have made mistakes. I haven’t even touched on what the ravages of time, moisture and, more recently, the stress on metal and plastics by driving over a pothole can cause.
So, isn’t it a good idea to have that duplicate inspection carried out by someone independent of your own ego? After all, your life and those of your loved ones and innocents are at stake. I think it’s worth the 50-odd quid a year to have that reassurance.
Keep up the good work on a brilliant magazine.
