CL launch, special editions and facelift

1999

In Europe the C215 CL replaces the previous W140 model; the first cars reach the UK a year later. At launch there are naturally aspirated CL500 V8 and CL600 V12.

2000

The CL55 AMG reaches showrooms with a naturally aspirated V8.

2002

Facelifted CL arrives. The CL55 AMG gets a new supercharged V8, the CL600 a new twin-turbo V12. Front bumpers, headlights and door mirrors get a minor redesign.
