Practical Classics (UK)

There’s never been anything like it and Danny Hopkins is excited

The car show as we know it is great fun and the PC Resto show is the best of the best (I would say that wouldn’t I?). But this year it is also groundbreaking, as this year it has the Practical Classics Classic World, with Discovery. Long title, simple and brilliant set-up. You basically sit in the middle of four zones: Work in Progress, Staff Car Sagas,

Barn Finds Revisited, and the Classic World

Stage (all you need to know about everything important). In short you are slap bang in the middle of as the very best the classic car world has to offer - including living driving classic cars – it just goes on all around you. It’s basically going to be the best circus you have ever been to. Nothing like it has ever been done before.

Ringmasters will be myself, James Walshe, and Ant Anstead and we will be joined by

Jimmy De Ville and Fuzz Townshend as we go through the weekend.

Our project will be worked on in one corner, you can enjoy our cars being driven around you on the roadway (our own magic roundabout) and you can also get up close and personal with each of the four corner zones when the roadway isn’t active.

It has taken a lot of organising and will be like nothing you’ve ever seen before. I’m particularly excited about the barn finds revisited corner. Here you will see three cars that originally feature on the Carole Nash ‘Barn Finds’ stand and have now been completely rebuilt and put back on the road. Watch them take a bow on the Classic World roadway. The Live Stage itself will feature a mix of interviews, competitions and panels. And here’s the zinger – you can drive your classic around the roadway. Email me by the end of February and you’ll go into the hat for the Me and My Classic parade. Email danny. hopkins@practicalclassics.co.uk. See you there!
