Classic fans can rejoice as things start opening up again
We look forward to the events that are coming back in 2021.
We can’t say that we’re sorry to see the back of 2020 and we have high hopes that 2021 will be much better for us all. Unfortunately, quite a few events early in the year have already been cancelled or pushed back until later in the season, but there are still plenty of big fixtures that have been confirmed, not least of all the Practical Classics Restoration show at the NEC on June 11-13.
Race Retro usually kicks off the season at Stoneleigh Park in February, but this year’s weekend has been postponed until further notice. Follow
raceretro.com for the latest.
The London Classic Car Show (theclassic carshow uk.com) will be celebrating 60 years of the Jaguar E-type at Syon park on April 16-18, while Retromobile
(retromobile.com) in Paris is currently set to take place from June 2-6. That’s a month before the Le Mans Classic (lemans classic.com) which will be thrilling thousands of car nuts from July 2-4, then a few weeks later the Silverstone Classic (silverstone
classic.com) will be taking place from July 30 to August 1.
One of the best events of the year is confirmed for May 1-2, and that’s the Donington Historic Festival. It’s always an amazing weekend of clubs displays and competitive racing,
with mouthwatering displays from beginning to end. For a full run down of what’s happening and when, check out donington historic.com.
Two of our favourite fixtures are the Beaulieu Autojumble weekends, and this year’s pair are confirmed for May 15-16 as well as September 4-5; see
beaulieu.co.uk for more. Goodwood (goodwood.com) expects its Members’ Meeting to happen on May 15-16, the Festival of Speed to run over the weekend of July 8-11, while the Revival should take place from September 17-19.
Another couple of days that are always guaranteed to be a rush is the Shelsley Walsh Classic Nostalgia weekend (shelsley walsh.com). It’s the event’s 10th anniversary and the organisers promise ‘an action-packed weekend of competitive hill climb racing, thrilling demos, celebrity drivers, Group B rally cars, parades, car club displays, trade stands and great live entertainment.’
See you there!
