BIG, AND GETTING EVEN BIGGER!
We’re good for the planet, too
After we reported the findings of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) survey in the previous issue, that the classic industry contributes £7.2bn to the UK economy, a more recent study estimates that figure to be nearer £9bn.
The new report was commissioned by HERO-ERA and carried out by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR), which analysed and modelled data to quantify the economic and environmental impact of classic and historic vehicles.
The conclusion was that the historic and classic sector is much, much larger than it was previously thought to be, with a relatively low impact on the environment.
