Here’s how they did it

-

NOV 11 As bought

Fitted with X300 hubs and alloys. It was rigged with bolts and girders and carried its race damage with pride.

SEP 14 Stripped

Banger bits off and the rear end scrapped. The XK is jigged back into shape. Chassis is a Feb 1958 build.

OCT 14 Ready to go

With £8k worth of parts stashed and Tom and Mike welding the chassis – the resto is on.

MAY 16 Moved

In a new workshop, but now there is an added roof, floor, rear end, roll cage and bonnet. The giant XK weldathon is well and truly under way.

SEP 18 Prepared

The major bodywork is complete and the engine rebuilt. The body has been off so the chassis could be painted. Now for the paintshop.

JULY 2019 Installed

Tom has that look in his eyes as the XK is lowered into place.
