I finally convinced a friend years ago to at least have an oil change on the Cortina MKV that he’d owned from new and had never serviced. After the oil change, the oil pressure dropped dramatically and it rattled like a bag of spanners. The black gunge had been only thing giving it oil pressure. He never forgave me for that! Jim Pace
