Original owner Bob Rosie hands the keys to James, who promises to drive the car back to Aberdeen when the resto work is done. The car is shabby in places, but our Bob had sheltered it well.

2 January 2019

Stripdown commences, parts are safely boxed up for storage and the search for rare replacement panels begins.

3 Feb-sept 2019

Welding carried out by Clive Jefferson. Complex CX structure means vast amount of skill and accuracy required.

4 July 2019

For every bit of welding Clive completes, James finds another hole and pokes at it. The original metric tyres are replaced with 16in Michelins on brand new wheels.

5 January 2020

Legend of the Citroën community, Stan Platts, and his huge stash of CX parts came to the rescue countless times. It wouldn’t have happened without him.

Tom at Nene Valley Body Repairs applies his expertise to the damaged bodywork, while keeping to James’s meagre budget. The car’s paint finish is extraordinary.
