BLASTED WHEELS?
QThe steel wheels are very tatty on my Simca 1301. Should I paint them myself over the winter or have them professionally refurbished?

Having battled with twist-knot wire brushes firing strands of wire out, choking dust and filth, plus the expense of paint on numerous occasions, we’ve come to the conclusion it’s a no contest. Make sure that the wheels are to be zincprimed first, as this prevents scratches and stonechips turning into large scabs of corrosion that force their way between the coating and the metal.
