British legend to be thoroughly celebrated in 2021
Celebrating club achievements and planned events for 2021.
The Jaguar E-type is undeniably one of the greatest cars ever made, and the British icon is celebrating its 60th birthday this year. To mark the occasion there are a few high-profile events taking place, the first of which is the London Classic Car Show at Syon Park on April 16-18. Show director Mark
Woolley told us: ‘A number of very special E-type displays are being curated that will include dedicated dealers, restorers and specialists along with the country’s leading Jaguar car clubs.’ More at theclassic carshowuk.com.
Next up is the E-type Club’s weekend at Shelsley Walsh in Worcestershire, on June 12-13. Called E-type 60 and organised by Philip Porter, one of the world’s leading authorities on Jaguars, the two-day event promises the perfect blend of carefully curated static displays, music, food, trade displays and of

course the world’s oldest motorsport venue will also provide the perfect location for demonstration and timed runs. And just in case all of this is not enough, E-type 60 will also celebrate 60 years of the Mini Cooper, for even greater variety. Find out more at etype60.com.
Next up is something rather special at the Silverstone Classic: an E-type-only race, with a 58-strong grid of entries. Running on the Saturday afternoon, in the middle of the three-day weekend, so many big cats battling for supremacy is bound
to make this race one of the highlights of the 2021 event (silvers toneclassic.com).
Finally, on August 28, Shropshire-based Jaguar specialist Classic Motor Cars (CMC) is going to turn its annual open day into a homage to the E-type. CMC’S Managing Director Nigel Woodward told us: ‘The celebration is not restricted to E-types, with guests welcome to turn up
in whatever car they own. Last year’s event, which celebrated the Jaguar Mark 2, saw 5000 people attending with more than 100 classic cars on display. Expect live music, food and drink, plus an array of traders, and we will be opening the doors to our workshop so that people can look around and see some of the craftsmanship involved in classic restorations.’ classic-motor-cars. co.uk
