Winter Warmers…

Plans for a great big winter adventure have been overtaken by events – but we’ve still managed to use our £500 steeds

Well, it hasn’t gone entirely to plan. First, as the tiers fell, we postponed our great big winter adventure to North

Wales in November. Next, we decided to keep our jolly jaunt local – a Winter Adventure in Rutland, Lincolnshi­re and Cambridges­hire – while returning home to our bubbles each night, keeping everything strictly distanced. But then the big lockdown came and we realised that all our plans had been for nowt.

It would be impossible to do anything together and stay safe… putting ourselves at even the slightest risk of accident, or in any way more likely to contract the virus when the NHS was in such crisis would be irresponsi­ble. But we didn’t give up. We still used the cars we bought, still worked on them and still gave them a test of sorts, in keeping with the Winter Warmer ethos we establishe­d over a decade ago.
