A WHEELCHAIRFRIENDLY TRIUMPH

Modified TR6 is a huge success

-

An article that recently ran in the Triumph Sports Six Club’s Courier magazine piqued our interest. The man behind it was retired design engineer Mike Clarke, whose wheelchairbound wife was unable to join him on drives out. Says Mike: ‘I was quoted £3000 to fit a removable hoist to my TR6, so I looked into doing it myself. I bought a used system for £150 and then set about working out how to

fit it. I opted to bolt everything into place so it’s removable, and once fitted you’d never know it was there, with the door shut. The hoist itself detaches and goes into a bag that can go behind the seat or in the boot. It works brilliantly and my wife can now take part in club events again.’ tssc.org.uk
