Dismissed as an ‘old iron pushrod lump’ on page 85 of the March issue, the Bentley Arnage R engine was actually made from aluminium alloy. The resultant Rolls-royce L-series V8 remained in production from 1959 to 2020.

There was just a small point I noticed in the Price Guide, under Austin. The list shows the production years for the 1800/2200 model from 1968-1975. My understand­ing is that the 1800 was launched for the motor show in 1965 for 1966.

RUSS: Actually we’re all wrong on this one. The Austin version was launched in late 1964, with the Morris arriving a year later. I have made the necessary amendment. Pat on the back for Mr Rodman: that’s gone unnoticed for at least 23 years in our Price Guide …
