MARKET ANALYSIS

‘One of the most uniquely charming cars ever made ’

Despite the current trend for the acquisition of modern classics, with Seventies, Eighties and even Nineties classics being snapped up for silly prices, there is still a very keen market for the P4, whose 1940s charm and class, not to mention its sturdy build, still appeals to a big crowd of enthusiasts. Projects still pop up now and then for under a grand but there’s a very decent supply of usable, rolling restorations out there, at not unreasonable prices. Factor into the bargan that these cars are straightforward to repair and maintain yourself, with superb club support, owning a P4 is a very rewarding experience especially as their ongoing popularity means you’ll always have a car worth something. Very few examples are worth over ten grand. For that kind of money, it would have to be unique in some way – either restored to perfection or in original condition with a nice backstory. If you’re looking to pay top dollar, just inspect very carefully for bodges.
