MARKET ANALYSIS

- with James Walshe

‘It’ll be no great surprise to learn that prices of the X350 have fallen. You might find the V8 cars are cheaper than V6 versions. The cost of running a V8 can be prohibitive for many a buyer. Five grand will get you a decent nonxjr model but spend a more on a low mileage or higher spec car and you probably won’t regret it. Postfacelift models are pricier as buyers like the extra exterior bling. Don’t be put off by high miles, but check the paperwork for usefully chunky bills. Buy wisely and – unlike most German rivals of this era – you’ll have not only a reliable car – but a genuinely beautiful looking one, too.’
