Practical Classics (UK)

WELCOME TO THE WORKSHOP

As the team pulls in James's latest project

- Danny Hopkins EDITOR danny.hopkins@practicalclassics.co.uk

Times are pretty tough, so our tech section is becoming more and more important. Why? Well, the simplest and easiest way to make your hard-earned cash go further is to do your own servicing and restoring. It’s a core remit of PC and it’s a fantastic way to get to know your car better.

Each issue there’s a load of real world expertise at your fingertips, taking you through from the basic principles in our ‘Academy’ series, to great big projects and the very best reader restorations. Inspiration, information and entertainment, all for the cost of a pint, every four weeks.

You can guarantee that the advice we give is correct, because we all work on the classics we own and struggle on our own driveways as well as in the PC workshop – where the ‘magic’ happens. No-one else does this in print, so we still provide a service you can’t get anywhere else and we make sure it is all correct and relevant… nothing wasted. Proper advice, clearly and thoroughly given, so you can save money and prepare for the year ahead.

It’s more than a money saver, too. Working on your car brings you closer to it. By doing your own maintenance you will also, inevitably, spot ‘the next job’ or have a ‘while I’m here I might as well’ moment. That future-proofs your classic (for the time being at least).

So, grab a spanner and get stuck in. If you do, why not grab a membership deal (see p50). That way you can make sure you get every page of PC goodness delivered to your door, with a bunch of extra perks thrown in.
