Sci­en­tific name: Wal­laceochromis rubro­labi­a­tus Ori­gin: West Africa: Badi river, Ko­lente river basin, Guinea Habitat: Shal­low, acidic, black­wa­ter steams and pools with sandy and/or muddy sub­strates Size: Males up to 12cm, but usu­ally around 10cm; fe­males 7-8cm Tank size: 120x38x38cm for a pair Wa­ter re­quire­ments: 4.2-6.6 ph, 0-4°H Tem­per­a­ture: 22-26.5°C Feed­ing: White­worm, tubifex, oc­ca­sional blood­worm, Artemia. Rarely weaned onto pre­pared foods Avail­abil­ity and cost: A rar­ity, only likely to be found in spe­cial­ist shops; ex­pect to pay £45-£60 for a pair
