The foxface

-

The Foxface, Siganus vulpinus, is a member of the rabbitfish family, and is a hardy, highly attractive, peaceful grazer reaching around 20-25cm in length. They tend to be left alone by other fish due to the venomous spines on their dorsal, ventral and anal fins, common with all members of the family. The presence of these spines means that these fish should never be handled. While a sting is highly unlikely to prove fatal to a human, it certainly won’t be a pleasant experience, causing several hours of intense pain.
