Size: Males up to 4cm, females up to 3cm
Origin: Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon and Benin
Habitat: Moderately fast moving streams and rivers
Water requirements: Unfussy, slightly soft and acidic to
moderately hard and alkaline; 6.5-7.6pH, 5-12°H
Temperature: 20-27°C
Temperament: Notably inoffensive
Feeding: Unfussy, most live-foods, frozen and prepared foods will be taken. Make sure foods are fine enough to eat though.
Availability and cost: Not exactly rare, but not common either. Most imports seem to be accidental and often underappreciated.
Look out for them in specialist stores.
