Origin: Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand

Habitat: Ponds, swamps and bogs filled with dense aquatic vegetation Tank size: 120x30x30cm.

Water requirements: Soft and acidic to neutral water; 6.0-7.0pH, 2-12°H Temperature: 24-30°C.

Temperament: One of the most peaceful gourami available

Feeding: Despite their adult size they have relatively small mouths. Offer suitably sized floating dry foods as well as frozen or live treats like bloodworm and mosquito larvae

Availability and cost: Easy to miss but always available. From around £7 for a juvenile fish.
