Easy to breed
Setting up a spawning tank for Red-chinned panchax is straightforward, with an airpowered sponge filter, heater and clumps of Java moss or floating spawning mops. Fill the tank using water from the main aquarium. Transfer the conditioned pair or group of fish (one male and two or three females) to the tank, removing them again after spawning. The eggs take up to two weeks to hatch, and the fry are quite small; once they start moving about they will need to be fed infusoria for a day or two and then Brine shrimp nauplii thereafter.
