Put a lid on it

-

Ensure any tank for Stiphodon has a tight-fitting hood that goes right up to the edges. While these gobies aren’t known for jumping, they are notorious climbers that can scale vertical panes of glass. To do this, they utilise their adapted ventral fins, which have evolved into a ‘suction cup’. Usually, this cup is used to stick them to rocks and stop them being swept away. But in the confines of a tank, they’ll soon learn that they can adhere to the glass and wriggle up it, clean out of the water and to freedom — drying out on your carpet.
