Van Live! 2020 All the highlights of our virtual show
Our Van Live! Virtual Caravan and Motorhome Show ran for a week in October, but it’s not too late to visit and enjoy all of the stands for yourself!
This year will live long in the memory as one of the 21st century’s most eventful periods – from political turmoil to global pandemic, it certainly has been one for the history books.
And 2020 has not been an easy year for the motorhome industry, either. With production halted, campsites closed and people living under strict lockdown, it was a tough season.
However, as the country started reopening again, dealerships found themselves busy, with orders on the rise and a sharply increased interest in motorcaravanning among the general public.
Many motorhome shows were postponed, which meant that it’s been far more difficult for enthusiasts to see new models and products, and catch up on the latest industry trends and news, site information and more.
Virtual show
And that’s where Van Live! Practical Caravan and Motorhome Virtual Show, proudly sponsored by Bailey, came in. From 12 to 18 October 2020 you could visit our show and see all of the virtual stands; on them, you could read the latest news from manufacturers, find links to their new products, catch up with what’s going on at campsites and more – all in the comfort of your home!
It wasn’t just about products; there were celebrity interviews (including a chat with Camping and Caravanning Club President Julia Bradbury), great competitions, hints and tips, advice on technical matters, and much more.
The good news is that we’ve kept everything online, so it’s not too late to visit; but in the meantime, here are just a few of the highlights.
BRITISH MANUFACTURERS
Hall 1 features all of the latest information on British-made motorhomes – everything you need to know about the newest launches and range updates for the 2021 season!
Here are some of the highlights:
■ The big news for show sponsor Bailey is the launch of the Adamo range of coachbuilt motorhomes offering the very best in European-style features and design, while retaining all of the UK-friendly kit and spec that British motorcaravanners desire.
Three models are available in the new Adamo line-up. The 69-4 has a spacious transverse rear washroom, the Adamo 75-4l is a four-berth with a luxurious island bed at the rear, and the Adamo 75-4DL is a four-berth with an electrically operated drop-down bed over the lounge.

■ Auto-Sleepers celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2020 and the 20th anniversary of its Nuevo model. To commemorate this, it is launching a new limited-edition Nuevo (2).
January 2021 will also herald the introduction of a new Broadway EL model, built on a long-wheelbase chassis and measuring 6.6m in total.
■ Auto-Trail is crowning its 2021 season with the launch of an A-class range. All three Fiat-based Grande Frontier models (3) come with an integrated wraparound dashboard, fitted with motorhome-specific sat nav, smartphone connectivity and a rear-view camera.
Both the Grande Frontiers and the 2021 Tracker models will feature a new-look media centre that incorporates table storage, a grab handle and a 21.5in Avtex TV.
The Ford-based F-line range (which is now being branded as Auto-Trail) also sees the addition of a new model, the 7.32m-long island-bed F74.
■ Majestic (4) is the name of the special-edition motorhomes offered by the Marquis Leisure dealer network, based on all three of Elddis’s low-profile coachbuilt ranges – the Autoquest, Accordo and Encore. These best-selling specials come with all sorts of extra goodies included in the price – starting with a much more powerful engine. All of the Majestic models run on Peugeot’s 165bhp engine, compared with the 140bhp that comes with the standard Elddis model.
■ Plus, there’s comprehensive reports on the latest launches from many more of the country’s major brands!
