Practical Motorhome

SPECIAL INTERESTS

-

Speaking of having all of the local amenities handily on your doorstep, if you have a particular interest, you might be lucky enough to find a site that’s perfectly located to allow you to enjoy your hobby right outside your motorhome’s pitch.

From sites on racecourses to those with well-stocked fishing lakes, set in the grounds of a stately home, or on a vineyard brimming with grapes

(or apples for you cider lovers out there!), more and more campsites these days are being established to cater for a huge range of special-interest groups.

Field Farm Fisheries in Suffolk (pictured above) has no fewer than six excellent fishing lakes, suitable for all levels of angling skills, and there’s a tackle and bait shop on site, too. Stay on their campsite and all you will need to do is pick up your fishing rod, perhaps take an umbrella for some shade, and choose your spot for the day.

In a completely different vein, Silly Moos Campsite, near Ramsey on the Isle of Man, is on the renowned TT racecourse, so naturally welcomes motorbikes as well as motorhomes. The campsite’s website provides plenty of useful information about the site itself, and those famous races.

For something more family orientated, yet away from rollercoasters and watersplashes,

Beamish Holiday Park in County Durham is a comfortable campsite that welcomes families. It’s a short walk from the Beamish Living Museum, offering fun for all.

When you’ve had your fill of the museum, the fine coastline and countryside of the beautiful North East are on hand to entertain. Web beamishholidaypark.co.uk
