RESEARCHING LOCATIONS ON THE internet can save a lot of time and Richard Walker (facebook.com/richwphotos) takes to Flickr when he’s looking for abstract architectural inspiration.

“Beckford’s Tower in Bath was designed by Henry Edmund Goodridge in 1825 and completed in 1827. I came across it while researching spiral staircases on Flickr and I added it to my list of staircases to photograph. It’s quite tricky to shoot – it’s tight getting up the staircase, and with other visitors it can take a while to get a good shot.”

“The smaller shot was taken at the citizenM hotel in Southwark. It’s a bit tricky to shoot from this angle as there isn’t a lot of room and using a full-size tripod isn’t an option. I set my camera up on my Gorillapod, and luckily the Canon has a vari-angle LCD screen so I didn’t have to break my back trying to get the composition.”
