Go to File>Open and find the Halftone background.jpg image in your Free Gifts folder then double-click it to open it up. Hit Ctrl+A to select it, Ctrl+C to copy it and Ctrl+W to close it down. Now back in the image you’re working on, hit Ctrl+V to paste it in. In the Layers panel, drag this new layer down so that it sits below the other visible layers as a background. It’s likely to need resizing, so hit Ctrl+T to put it into Free Transform Mode, hold the Shift key and drag the corner handles of the bounding box until it’s the size you want it. You can also drag the background into place to reposition it. The background has an orange and yellow gradient, and you can change this by pressing Ctrl+U to bring up the Hue/Saturation panel and then dragging the Hue slider to shift the colours until you find an effect you like.
