A con­ven­tional ra­zor blade of­fers a far less harsh cut­ting edge than the Stan­ley blade. This al­lows the con­tours of the plas­tic to be more closely fol­lowed and re­stored where the big­ger blade has ‘thru­penny-bit­ted’ the sur­face.
