1989 Kawasaki GPZ550A
This GPZ550 really caught our eye. Zephyr running gear gives it a purposeful stance, even if the ape hangers do their best to take it away. It was built as a racer (with those ’bars?) and the seller says the frame and wheels have been powdercoated, and the motor’s top-end has been refreshed. The loom’s been stripped back so you’d need another to get back on the road, but with a lick of paint, a fairing and a pair of clip-ons it’d make a tasty middleweight.
Gary says: By the look of it the hard work’s been done. It needs a decent paintjob and finishing properly, but for £700 that’s a good basis for an interesting project. Obviously it’d be better if it was a 750 or an 1100, but then it’d cost more as a result. These old Gpzs are ripe for special treatment. Like it.
