ZRX pipe dream

Practical Sportsbikes (UK) - - News -

UK EXHAUST manufacturer Black Widow has developed a new lightweight stainless steel four-into-one system for Kawasaki’s popular ZRX1100 and 1200 models.

The system, which is now spring-loaded at the midsection, comes with the option of three different silencers, or is available as downpipes only.

The end-can types are the 300HX, a hexagonal carbon silencer, the 300CS, an oval carbon/steel option, or the CL23R – a 230mm silencer with a blued-stainless end.

As well as boosting performance and looking way saucier than the OE system, Black Widow also claim their pipe gives a substantial weight saving over standard.

“Our silencers start at just 0.9kg,” Black Widow’s Lincoln Morrow told PS. “Fitting a complete system can save up to 8kg compared to stock. And because the system is now spring-loaded in sections it’s now cheaper to post out to buyers. In fact overseas buyers save even more than UK buyers because they don’t pay 20 per cent VAT.”

Downpipes are £320 plus P&P, and silencers will set you back between £100 and £240, again plus postage. Go to blackwidowexhausts.co.uk for more.
