Ooh, la, la…

My hobby is getting out of hand. From left to right are: 1985 UK Yamaha RD350 F1 converted to N1 spec. It’s unrestored but running and roadworthy. Next is a 1987 RD125LC Mk2 French import; it’s full-power with YPVS. Next to that is a 1983 RD125LC 10W, again French but road legal and registered on a Y plate. It’d been laid up since the ’90s and the fuel tank contained what looked like rusty water, so I put white vinegar in there for a week getting regular shakes then powerwashed it out and it came up fine. The last one is my 1985 RD80MX which had been laid up in Germany for 20 years. It’s had an engine rebuild and it started third kick. It’s unrestored but I painted the engine cases, barrel and head while the engine was out. It’s only done 5000 miles. I bought the 350 in 2014 and all the rest in the last year starting with the DT200R French import once I realized how easy it was to get it registered. I wouldn’t hesitate doing that again.
That’s 680cc of RD. Nice DT200R (above)
