1990 Yamaha FZR600
Yamaha’s first truly serious attempt at a 600 sportsbike. Liquid-cooled with plenty of attitude although the FZR600’S finish could only be best described as poor – a common issue with all Yamahas of the era. This survivor has been stood in one of the nation’s apparently now ubiquitous ‘barns’ for a number of years and there has been an abortive attempt made to turn it into a race bike.
Gary says: A good haul for the money, really, with loads of usable stuff on the bike, which has been fitted with an FZR1000 Genesis front-end. There are race fairings with it too so it wouldn’t take much to build a fun track hack.
